You don’t need to be a professional meteorologist to appreciate the versatile Stratus 6330 Precision Rain Gauge. However, if you are, you are going to love it.

This rain gauge is a simple instrument that does not require wiring, electrical connections or even batteries. It is easy to install and practical to use during all seasons. This instrument measures so extremely accurate that it can be used for official rainfall measurements taken at most airports or other reading stations. This product includes the clear plastic display, an internal measurement tube, removable top and plastic mounting bracket.

The gauge has a capacity of 11” (279.4mm) that provides an inside look into rainfall amounts. You will also gain first hand knowledge of whether or not your garden needs a little extra help staying green and lush throughout the hot summer months. This is a great product whether you are interested in tracking rainfall annually, or you are curious to learn how much rain fell during the night.

We offer this standard rain gauge in both Imperial and Metric measurements. You can also purchase the inner tube separately here.

Part Number 6330- Imperial (US/ NOAA Standard)
Inner Tube: 1.00 Inches, 0.01 (1/100") increments
Total Capacity: 11.00 Inches

Part Number 6330M -Metric
Inner Tube: 25.4 Millimeters, 0.20mm increments
Total Capacity: 27.94 cm / 279.40 mm

The internal tube enables you to collect up to an inch of rain and is designed to measure in increments of 0.01 inches (or 0.2mm). The inner measurement tube magnifies the rainfall by funneling a 4" radius of rainfall into a 1" diameter tube. This allows for a highly accurate reading for rainfall up to 1 inch. Once the inner tube fills up, the outer overflow tube begins to fill. The rain gauge can be disassembled by hand, and rainfall poured into the inner tube one inch at a time for an exact measurement.

Are you a teacher who is interested in supplementing your science course and teaching with hands on activities throughout the year? This is an economically priced tool to add to your bag of tricks to keep students engaged and excited about learning. Encourage them to keep a journal, so they can monitor the local precipitation throughout the school year.

The gauge also becomes handy during the winter months to track the local snowfall. All that you do is remove the receiving funnel and measuring tube. In a matter of seconds, you have an instrument that works for snowfall measurement during those big snowfalls. This will help you know if the kids have enough snow to go outside for a sled ride or build a snowman.

The Stratus Precision Rain Gauge is a high-quality, American-made product. It is also one of the most affordable gauges on the market today.

Rain Gage Review

This is my second rain gage for Y’all . The first one was up for about ten years . It was still collecting fine , but my Wife wanted one she could read from a distance . The first one had become milky looking from setting in the Colorado sun 🌞 all that time . This is a very good product , so We bought it again .

Easy to read but…..

The small cylinder inside the large cylinder does not fit securely in its base. This causes some difficulty with reassembling the unit after dumping water. It moves around and is difficult to center. Looks like an easy fix to me. Maybe it’s just my unit

Great Rain Gauge - No claibration needed

Ordered it to participate in COCORHAS program and actually helped me calibrate my high end weather station rain gauge. Great addition to a weather station as a check. When I did research on the design found a photo copy of the original 1895 instruction manual.
