I've purchased 6 of these and gave them as gifts. With extreme weather we are always curious about rain fall amounts.

I have owned on for about four years now and love it. I purchased this one for my son. Now we converse back and forth about how many inches of rain we both have in our Stratus rain gauges.

I am a Weather spotter for the NWS and this is the manual rain gauge they recommend. This is a replacement gauge as my old one cracked and became unusable. This is a common problem here in the southern Arizona sun. Regardless, it works as advertised and is simple to measure and read. It comes with a mounting bracket and hardware, as well as the outer cylinder funnel cap and inner measuring cylinder. It also comes with a sample record sheet and instructions. I have been using this same gauge since I became a weather spotter.

I love having the accuracy this unit gives with proper siting. This was my second purchase from Scientific Sales and the shipping was same or next day. Since they're in Florida the delivery is usually only 2 days for me. Great folks to purchase from.

It'll take some getting used to, but overall I like it. I do have one thought/question/suggestion. When the inner tube overflows into the outer chamber, could the outer chamber be accurately marked so that you could see the over 1" amount without having to pour from the outer container to the small tube?
